The ED2-SM Series SkidWeigh
System is an electronic device that can be installed on any forklift
truck in order to convert it into a mobile check weighing scale
with overload warning.
Every time a skid is picked up, the hydraulic pressure on the
forklift is automatically activated and converted to a weight
measurement and presented to the operator visually via a LED digital
indicator.
|

Step 1. Pick up a skid and read
the weight shown on the indicator.
Step 2.
Compare the indicated weight
against the reported weight and immediately make a decision:
A. If the weight variance is within the acceptable company level,
then the skid can move on to a destination trailer or holding area.
B. If the weight variance is over the acceptable company level, then
the skid is moved to the "Legal For Trade" floor scale for
verification and creation of a scale ticket.
Load And
Vehicle Stability
One of the most important elements to know about a forklift is the
rated load capacity. It is defined as the maximum weight of
material that can be handled on the forks at a specific load center.
When the weight of the load is not clearly
marked, the standard practice is to lift the load off the ground and
get a "feel" if the vehicle is stable. This becomes
a problem when unknown skid weights are picked up from the storage
racks at various forks heights and mast angles.
Solution
The SM-Series SkidWeigh with its
bright LED load weight readout will "flash" when overload
is present. Optional buzzer will be activated as well when vehicle
overloaded.
Installation
The SM-Series SkidWeigh can be installed
and calibrated by a local forklift dealer or the end users forklift
mechanic.
